Sara V Cole is a nationally represented, internationally exhibited fine art painter with a full-time art making studio practice, published author, collegiate art and art history instructor and human rights activist with specific interests in the civil rights of the disabled, gendered violence (sexual violence, domestic violence, human trafficking) of women and girls, and equitable, accessible education. Cole has participated in the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art Bi-annual Auction and several New York Art Fairs and has placed work in the permanent collections of The Triton Museum of Art, Hilton Hotels, the Microsoft Collection, Stanford University, the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, the Ritz Carlton in Laguna Niguel, the Grand Hyatt in Atlanta, Iberia Bank in Louisiana, and De Anza College in Cupertino.


Cole has an extensive list of exhibition history including New York City's Asian Cultural Center Gallery, group exhibitions from Seattle, Washington to Metz, France and for high-end events such as City Year fund-raisers with HGTV's Kenneth Brown and Sunset Magazine show houses. Cole is in the private collections of many patrons including that of Actress Sela Ward and the New York based National Art

Buyer for One King's Lane. As a lifetime proponent of social action and community service, Cole has donated works and volunteered with several non-profit organizations' fund raising auctions for nearly two decades.

Cole earned her BFA in ceramic sculpture and installation/performance art with a minor in art history in 2002. In 2006, she completed her MFA in painting and drawing. In 2007 she studied graduate level Non-Western Contemporary Art History, all at San Jose State University in San Jose, California.

 

Cole has taught fine art, art/design foundations, and art history at the collegiate level in the Bay Area for nearly a decade and has curated/co-curated dozens of art exhibitions. She is also the designer/editor of several published fine art monographs, a published poet and author, a women's writing &  education coach and is a certified Buddhist Assistant Minister.
