Musings in the Studio

Ive been working on my new botanical painting on panel for a little under six months now. It feels like a major shift in my work. I feel like I have been floundering for some time since I stopped working in encaustic almost seven years ago. The botanical work pn paper has remained constant, but the work on panel has suffered up until now. THe work is created with hand cut paper collaged onto panel and are then painted with acrylic. Needless to say, I am excited and I think it shows in the work. I've been getting great feedback from them so that helps too. I'm looking forward to diving into deep studio time with these works in 2016.
